Omagh Leisure Complex reopened on 1 July 2014
Omagh Leisure Complex has undergone major refurbishment and is now offering an excellent rage of facilities to cater for the residents of Omagh and surrounding areas, providing first-rate opportunities for physical activity.
The much awaited new facility offers everyone in the community an opportunity to become more active and improve their health and fitness with access to facilities and equipment the envy of any modern leisure provider in the province. A comprehensive fitness class and aquatic programme compliments the new facilities and in addition, local clubs and various sporting bodies are being welcomed back to deliver additional programmes and opportunities.
Omagh Leisure Complex has almost doubled in size since it first opened in 1982, The new DEC, Fitness Suite including sauna cabins and steam room, the 3G pitch and running track and the outdoor pitches and bowling green, as well as the Galley cafe are already well used facilities. New facilities include the new 25 metre swimming pool, 14 metre learner pool and free-form toddler pool with new viewing gallery and village style changing facilities as well as the new 25 seater jacuzzi and relaxation area. In addition the sports halls and spinning studio have been refurbished. This all-encompassing health facility surpasses any similar leisure facility for miles around.
The emphasis, as always is on participation for all, and an exciting new range of classes has been scheduled, catering to various levels of physical activity and diversity of interest…everything from Parent and Tot Aquatic Classes to Senior’s Stretch and Tone. Recreation and leisure must, of course, be reasonably priced and new pricing strategies will be in place to ensure the citizens of Omagh are being offered quality programmes and facilities at an affordable rate, with concessions being provided for the more vulnerable in the community. Strong partnerships continue to be forged with Public Health Agency to ensure that Omagh Leisure Complex is playing an important role in providing an accessible and inclusive platform to assist citizens in the district achieve healthier lifestyle goals through a range of programmes and initiatives.
