Innovation Omagh extends an invitation to all small to medium sized businesses in the Omagh district to attend a seminar on ‘How to Sustain Innovation for Success’. This informative seminar, delivered by Philip Bain of ShredBank Ltd and Amanda Fullerton from the University of Ulster, will focus on how to build a culture of success within businesses to allow them to be more efficient and highly innovative. The seminar will be held in the Silverbirch Hotel, Omagh on Thursday 23 January 2014 from 10am-12noon.
The seminar is part of a series of business support events organised by Omagh District Council through the Innovation Omagh Programme. This programme is part funded by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
Philip Bain, co-founder and director of ShredBank Ltd, will outline how the company, which specialises in document and confidential material shredding on site at client offices, has achieved high double digit growth year on year and won several enterprise awards, disproving the notion that success in a recession is impossible. He will focus on how innovation and creative thinking help the business to grow and to stay ahead of the competition, and produce tangible results.
Invest NI will outline a range of innovation support available to SME’s including its Innovation Voucher initiative, which provides companies with easily accessible funding up to £4,000 for an agreed business growth project with a university or college.
Amanda Fullerton, Business Development Manager at the University of Ulster will share her knowledge on the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Programme (Europe’s leading knowledge transfer programme).
The Knowledge Transfer Programme provides businesses with a high calibre graduate who will work on a project of strategic importance to the company, helping local SMEs to improve product design, develop new products, improve their manufacturing process, reduce costs and increase sales.
Speaking about the forthcoming seminar, the Chairman of Omagh District Council, Councillor Martin McColgan said: “Innovation Omagh has organised an exceptional event for local SMEs and I would encourage all businesses in the district to come along and avail of the knowledge, guidance and advice that will be available.”
Innovation Omagh is a free initiative designed to support local SMEs within the Omagh District with an overarching goal of placing Innovation, Research and Development at the core of local business growth. The programme also provides businesses with one-to-one mentoring support from a business expert.
