On Monday 17 March 2014 Omagh will welcome a sea of colour and atmosphere as participants including schools, youth clubs, sporting clubs, businesses and many other types of organisations parade on foot and on creatively designed floats. The parade is certainly a spectical of music and art which makes its way through the streets of Omagh in one of Northern Ireland’s largest St Patrick’s Day events. St Patrick’s Day Concert with ‘Rightly On’ an Ulster Scots band and ‘The Whistling Donkeys’ will play on stage at the Courthouse and entertain the crowds.
However, the St Patrick’s Day parade is not the only attraction, a large range of fringe events are organised throughout the weeks leading up to 17 March 2014. These include:
- Art Workshops and a Primary School Art Exhibition
- Feile Doire (Drama Festival)
- Sean nos dancing and flute workshop
- Migration discussion
- Celebration of Irish Film
- Pipes of Peace Workshop
- Lectures and Plays
- Finale Concert
- Tyrone Guild Craft Fair, Strule Arts Centre 12-5pm (Mon 17th)
