Independent Traders Weekend – Support your Local Independent Traders.
Omagh District Council is flying the flag for local retailers in Omagh and supporting diversity on the high street. From Friday 4th – Sunday 6thJuly 2014 across the country, the public will be encouraged to buy at least one item from their local, independent shop to celebrate Independents’ Weekend 2014. The national campaign champions the local retailers who make our local towns and villages so special.
The importance of local retailers cannot be disputed as they contribute to local identity and to local economies. The event aimed at marking the character and contribution Independent Traders’ bring to Omagh is being organised by Omagh District Council. In recognition of the mix of excellent shopping and hospitality offered by its Independent Traders, Omagh will celebrate its Independence during a weekend of discounts from Friday 4 July to Sunday 6 July 2014.
Omagh Town Centre with its wide variety of shops, coffee shops and restaurants will celebrate Independent Traders’ weekend – a type of ‘shop local campaign’ by offering special discounts and promotional events over three days. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, music was unable to be piped throught the town but discounts in independent stores are still up for grabs! See shop windows for posters.
