Omagh District Council has just launched its Omagh Town Shopping, Hospitality and Events Guide 2013. The Guide which will be an invaluable resource for visitors, tourists and locals alike,
details all businesses within Omagh by sector, including Omagh’s Fashion Mix, Looking and Feeling Good in Omagh, A Taste of Omagh, Let Omagh Entertain You, Omagh Meeting Your Household Needs, Something Special in Omagh and For Your Convenience in Omagh.
The Guide also includes a calendar highlighting the many town centre events to be held throughout the year including Carnivals, Independent Traders’ Weekend, Summer Saturday, Halloween Buskfest and Christmas festivities.
Over the past few years, Omagh has evolved into a high quality retail centre, with major High Street names complementing the long established boutique and specialist family run businesses unique to Omagh.
Omagh is known for its warmth of welcome and is popular for its extensive range of coffee shops and eateries, catering for everyone from the discerning shopper looking for a little light refreshment through to the gourmet diner, looking for that something special in the evening. For those visitors seeking accommodation and tourist activities in the area, the Guide also dedicates 4 pages to tourist information, which lists key accommodation providers in the district alongside key attractions, including historical sites, walking routes, art galleries/studios, Strule Arts Centre and information on angling, golf, horse riding and children’s activities. The 2013 Guide is currently available at the Tourist Information Centre and Public Services Centre and will be widely available across the town, district and further afield over the next few months.
The 2013 Guide has been supported by town centre businesses, which together with Omagh District Council’s Urban Regeneration Officer and the Department for Social Development, are working to promote and develop Omagh town centre as a key retail and visitor destination and to promote all that Omagh has to offer.
In launching the Guide, Omagh District Council’s Chairman, Councillor Errol Thompson said “This colourful and user-friendly Guide highlights all that is good about Omagh, detailing Omagh’s quality shopping, hospitality and tourism offerings. In particular, it details the array of independent retailers, unique boutiques and multi-national stores located in Omagh, all of which provide the perfect complement for the discerning shopper who yearns for that retail therapy”.
The guide is available throughout Omagh and the wider district.
